Staying with Kids: Bear Hill Lodge Cabins in Jasper

Jasper is our go-to weekend getaway with the kids. Plenty of space to get outdoors, crystal blue lakes during the summer and gorgeous winterscape during the colder season – it’s one of those destinations where you feel like you can just breathe deeper, as soon as you enter the National Park.

When travelling with three kids, we try to typically avoid the traditional hotels in favor of something more cozy, rustic, and spacious. With three kids, we put two in the bedroom with a pack and play, and have more than enough room in ours to have an adult-only oasis in the mountains, closing the door when the kids are asleep to share a bottle of wine in front of the fireplace.

Inviting from the moment you walk into the cabin, with a rustic stove for heat, wood paneling and modern details like updated and modern fixtures and décor, it’s the perfect combination of mountain comfort and family-friendly luxury.

Family Friendly Features at Bear Hill Lodge

There are two types of cabins available at the Lodge. First, The Heritage Cottage: a two-bedroom option great for families. The cabin features one queen size bed and two single size beds, in two separate rooms, full kitchen and pull-out sofa in the sitting area – full of rustic charm. The Bonhomme loft comes with a loft-style, a king-size bed upstairs in a gorgeous sitting area, with a double bedroom downstairs, with additional space on the pull-out sofa. The new, larger style of cabins are referred to as ‘Homesteads’ and they’re a lovely, lovely getaway.

Cabins are equipped with a full kitchen, perfect for snacking on popcorn made to enjoy on a summer or winter night, or preparing a meal to enjoy in the comfortable dining area of the cabin. With everything you need on hand, including board games that can be borrowed from the office at check-in, you’re going to have a comfortable stay whatever the season you visit at.
